What We Believe

The Holy Scriptures:

We Believe in the Old and New Testament consisting of 66 books, Verbally and Plenarily Inspired by God, Inerrant in the original writings, infallible, God-breathed, the supreme and final authority in faith and life, there being no other divine writings.

The Godhead:

We Believe in one God, eternally existing in three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, a tri-unity, equal in essence, attributes, yet distinct in office and activity.
Gen.1:1, 26; 11:6,7; 48:15,16; Deut. 6:4; Isa.6:3,8; 48:16; Num.6:24-27; Ps 2:7; Prov 30:4; Matt. 3:16,17; 28:19; John 1:1; 5:17,18; 10:30; 14:8,9; Acts 5:3,4; 2 Cor.13:14

The Person and Purpose of Jesus Christ:

We Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, who is the pre-existent Son of God, who became man, conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, without sin, being perfect God and perfect man, for the purpose to reveal God and redeem sinful men.

Gen. 3:15; Isaiah 7:14; 9:6; John 1:1, 18; 3:16-18; 14:8,9; Matt.1:18-25; Luke 1:26-38; Phil.2:7-8; 1 Tim 3:16; Heb 2:9, 14-16; 10:5-7; 1 Cor. 5:21; 1 Peter 2:25

The Total Depravity Of Man:

We Believe that man was created in the image and likeness of God by a special creative act, was innocent, that he had sinned and thereby received a sinful nature which brought physical and spiritual death into the world, that all mankind being of the seed of Adam are born with a sinful nature, totally depraved, dead in trespasses and sin, incapable of saving themselves.

Gen. 1:27; 1 Kings 8:46; Isaiah 64:6; Ps.39:5; 51:5; 1 John 1:10; Romans 1:20-32; 3:10-23; 5:6,12; Eph.4:18; Jer.17:9

The Work Of Jesus Christ For Our Salvation:

We Believe that the Lord Jesus Christ died as a substitutionary sacrifice for all our sins, that He was buried and was raised from the dead for our justification, that all who place their faith entirely and completely in this finished work for their sins are justified by God on the grounds of His shed blood which satisfied the justice of God.

Matt.12:40; John 3:16-18, 36; 5:24; 20:31; 10:11,17-18; Acts 2:24; Romans 4:25; 5:9; 1 Cor.15:1-4; 1 Peter 1:18,19; 2:23-24; 3:18; Gal.1:4; 1 John 2:2; Acts 4:12

The Salvation Of God:

We Believe that salvation is a gift of God given to man by grace, received by man through faith in the Person and Work of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all who express saving faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour are immediately delivered from the penalty of sin, continue to be delivered from the power of sin, that they are born-again by the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit, that they are children of God receiving a new and divine nature, that the Holy Spirit makes His permanent dwelling within them, enabling them to be obedient to God in the life and spirit of His Son, until they are finally delivered from the presence of sin.

John 1:12; 3:3-18,36; 5:24; 6:44,65; Acts 13:38,39; Romans 3:21-26; 2 Cor.5:17; Gal.2:20; Eph.2:8,9; Phil.2:12-13; 4:13; Heb.9:28; 2 Cor.1:10

The Holy Spirit:

We Believe in the personality of the Holy Spirit, that He is the Third Person of the Godhead, the author of the Scripture, the regenerator of every believer, the giver of all spiritual gifts to the Church, the power behind preaching, teaching, prayer, study, music and missions, that He indwells every believer permanently and seals them unto eternal life, that He convicts the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgement.

John 14:26; 16:7,15; Acts 5:1-4; 13:2; Romans 8:9,26; 1 Cor.12:12-13; 2 Cor.3:17; Eph.1:13-14; 4:30; Heb.3:7; John 1:32-34

The Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus Christ:

We Believe that the body of our Lord Jesus that died upon the cross was raised from the dead, that He in this body ascended into heaven and is now at the right hand of God where He is the one and only mediator between man and God, that He ever intercedes for the believer being their High Priest and Advocate before the Father.

Luke 24:39; John 20:27; Acts 1:10,11; 2:29-36; Romans 8:34; 1 Cor.15:1-8; 1 Tim.2:5; 1 John 2:1;

2 Tim 2:8; Heb.4:14; 7:25; 10:12; Acts 17:31

The Eternal Security and Assurance of the Believer:

We Believe that all believers, born-again, having been regenerated by the Holy Spirit are sealed until the day of redemption, that they are being kept by the promise and power of God, that they can never be lost again, neither man, think of themselves having power to separate them from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.

John 5:24; 6:37-40; 10:27-29; Romans 8:1,28-29; 1 Cor.1:4-9; 3:11-15; 5:1-5; Eph.1:4-7,13,14;

The Church:

We Believe that the church is a spiritual organism composed of all born-again persons from the Day of Pentecost until the Day Jesus Christ comes in the rapture of the church, that it is called the Body of Christ, the Bride of Christ, and that it is distinct from Israel. Christ as its head with the Holy Spirit as its administrator, banded together for the spiritual work of worship and growth, observing the ordinances of water Baptism by Immersion and the Lord's Supper as a memorial, the local and world wide proclamation of the Gospel of Christ, according to the Word of God which is the basis of all our beliefs.

Acts 2:42; Matt.16:18; 28:19-20; Mark 16:15,16; 1 Cor.6:19-20; 11:23-29; 12:12-18; Acts 15:14; 8:35-38; Romans 12:4-5 1 Tim 3:1-15; Col 1:18

The Rapture and the Second Coming of Christ:

We Believe in the return of our Lord Jesus Christ, first for His church in the air. This will be followed by a period of tribulation on the earth for a period of seven years which will end at the second coming of Christ with His church to earth to judge the nations and set up His Kingdom that will last one thousand years.

John 14:3; 1 Cor.15:51-57

We Believe in the bodily resurrection of all mankind, the saved to eternal life, the unsaved to everlasting conscious punishment.

Matt.25:46; Daniel 12:2,3; John 5:28-29; 11:25,26; Rev.20:5,6,12,13

We Believe that the souls of the redeemed are at death absent from the body, present with the Lord, and in conscious joy as they await the first resurrection; and they will be united with their resurrected bodies that are glorified and will be with the Lord forever. The souls of the lost will be judged at the Great White Throne Judgement and cast into the lake of fire in eternal conscious punishment.
